Just
a few steps away from the oft beaten track of West Street, this
is an old slice of tradition as far as pubs are concerned.
The
selection of beers may be the standard for city centre pubs with
a few real ales thrown in for effect, but the atmosphere (huzah,
no jukebox!) makes this seem like a the pub that time forgot.
Busy
at the weekends and a place where you'll be lucky to find a seat,
the pub still entices with the hum of conversation.
I
swear as well that I saw an old fella in the backroom playing an
electric organ the size of a park bench one night, and he seemed
to be enjoying himself alright.

Kevan Smith Saturday afternoons were the best with Maurice malone and his band.
Jack Great pub. Great Guinness. Great no Juke Box. Great Irish Music. Great change from the rest. Long may it reign.
Dave This is not a Irish theme pub but more like real Irish pub you have to drink the Guiness, Top of the morning to you all ,
Noel I think you will find that all the comments here are refering to the D&P in Trippett Lane Sheffield and NOT the D&P in the review.

The Bard Nice to see that my taxpayers money wasn't wasted on Damian's education. Back to the pub, it is a fine alehouse, pity about the Irish music!
Damian Grant I studied and worked in Sheffield from 1986 until 1995 and thi was ALWAYS the very first pub on my weekend itinerary!
Th atmosphere wasnext to none and the owner / landlady, Anne Flynn (hope it's still her!)was one of the nicest, most hospitable woman I ever met in he bar trade!
I reminisce often about my days in Sheffield and will definitely visit ths pub when I go back to this marvellous city this cooming Summer!
Ivor I do like a drink in here and think the fact it hasn't got a jukebox only allows people to have a conversation wothout somebody playing their way through the entire atomic kitten catalogue. The pub that time forgot? maybe the only one with any sense!
Hugh As a staunch member of CAMRA since it's beginning in Sheffield and a lecturer at the University it is only a five minute walk at lunchtime and the best pub in the area.
