The
sheaf is great!!! lively in the bar, always a friendly face in there,
great food and choice of ales. Refurbished a while back, gone is
the typical pit village pub look, and in comes the trendy town bar
with Ikea lighting and bright colours.
The beers top notch (although a tad expensive), theres a pool table,
juke box and for the summer there are benches lined up out front,
but I warn you get there early as they don't stay empty very long.
With the loss of the heavenly Plough through dubious circumstances,
we all look to the sheaf to take over the mantel as the top pub
in the village. Unfortunately it does have it's drawbacks, in that
it doesn't have the size to become like the plough ( god rest her
soul ) but it is quickly becoming the place to go out for a nice
relaxing drink, avoiding the trouble that blights many of Armthorpes
drinking establishments.
If you
like the trendiness of town without the huge crowds and aggresive
bouncers, take a look, you may be surprised by this ordinary looking
pub.
