The
Salutation is not right in the town centre but its worth the walk
(past the cinema and The Regent Hotel).
Its not a run of the mill Doncaster theme pub, its more of a traditional
place with a nice friendly atmosphere and a good mix of people,
both young and old alike.
The decor is traditional and feels like a 'proper' pub rather than
a design set.
The
staff are very friendly and the beer garden is a nice pleasant place
to spend a summers evening.
We didn't try the menu but it looked like traditional pub grub and
wasn't too expensive.
A round of three drinks, wine, bitter and lager came to less than
a fiver.

Doni lass I've drunk in the Sal 4 a few yrs now and to my knowledge it is not a gay bar. Think Fay's review is spot on.
Bryan (Bridgend) I have heard from friends who live in Doncaster that this is a Gay Pub - can anyone confirm if this is correct ?
Cara Devine The Sally is definitely one of the best pubs in Doncaster, mainly due to the fact that it is a proper traditional pub without a theme or silly promotion in sight! The staff are very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. It also has a relaxed and informal atmosphere where you can either go to have a ggod drink and a chat or to catch some sport on the large screen.
