An
extremely friendly place with a varied clientele that reflects the
student/hairy professional area of town in which its situated.
The
staff look like they enjoy their jobs, and there are amusements
in the form of pool and jukeboxes.
It
isnt rocket science, but what it is, is a decent pub that
caters to couples and groups, girls and boys, football fans and
"senior members of society" equally, fairly and successfully.

As students we frequented the "Springy" nearly 20 years ago. Wednesday Quiz night with Barry was always a pleasure. Sandwiches were always brought round and we would regularly sit next to Alf and his mate , both in their late 70's, who would regale us with stories of the past. Very happy days. 01/06/05

This is without doubt a good watering hole, however to call it the best pub in the whole world ( Marie ) is getting slightly carried away. I am not a local, but I have visited this pub on several occasions and enjoyed myself. I have been to many bars in many places and this is not the best I have visited. I think Marie that you may have to get out and try some other places. The best pub I have ever visited was called JENNYWATTS in Bangor N.I, a true pub with live music and entertainment and when it's time to hit the nightclub just go upstairs, truly a great bar. So my message is get out there a bit you don't know what your missing.
