The
food is excellent value for money especially the 2 for a fiver at
selected times.
The
guest cask beers are Everard's Tiger and Deuchars.
The
place has a good friendly mix of young and mature folk and just
a couple of irksome barflies. The atmosphere is very friendly, easygoing
and fairly smoke free.
This
pub is probably the last REAL pub left in Crookes now that most
of the others of gone the way of the Theme Bar.
The landlord and his wife are very welcoming and there are usually
2 rotating guest beers on offer.
Good quiz on Wednesday nights. I do feel though that spiralling
pub rents will eventually put an end to all this and it will go
the way of all the others. So enjoy it now while you still can.
It's
good value for money. Cask beers are £2 a pint.

Chocca Since the new landlady has taken over this pub has gone seriously downhill. The bar staff have a bad attitude & you are made to feel that you are getting in their way! Don't go.... vote with your feet..... Go to the Ale House or Masons which are much better and friendlier
Andy N. , Lower Walkley. Run by one of the nicest guys in the Sheffield pub trade.
The food trade this pub does is amazing at weekends, and for good reason, all the main courses are homemade, and are delicious!(Thanks Tina!)
This pub must be the reason that hundreds of students don't starve to death every year!
The real ales are very kept too,(Everards Tiger, being my personal favourite.)
Overall.Very well presented pub, with exceptional, sensibly priced food, great real ale served in a friendly atmoshere. Well done John.
Matt Soup and a sandwich for £2-3. And its nice especially washed down with an ice cold Artois! Spot on! Great Pub.
Matt The best pub in Sheffield! Friendly staff AND regulars. A good mix of locals and students and a fine selection of ale.
David Great pub, great atmosphere. I often call in for a drink after work with my mates. The landlord and landlady are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Just don't whatever you do, mix it up with the Noah's Ark at Intake. Avoid that pub like the plague. While ever the current landlady is there, I shan't be drinking there.
