Sitting
proudly on the a corner of the road from Broomhill to Crosspool,
The Grindstone is an ideal place to either start or finish a pub
crawl along Crookes.
Whilst
the decor is comprised of dark walls and wood along with the obligatory
shelves above head-level populated by "quaint" household items from
times past, this sits at odds with the pool tables, big screen tv
and fruit-machines that fill the place with noise.
That
having been said, this is still one of the better pubs in the area
with a good choice of ales, beers, spirits and alcopops for those
that must indulge in such things... and the cocktail pitchers are
quite nice as well.
If
you really like the place then you could just forget about the pub
crawl and crawl out of here at the end of the night.

Karen No way Matty baby, I was hoping I'd find Mr Right in here (aka Robbie Williams) but instead I found that the beer tasted like cake mixture and the carpet was the colour of a chunder rainbow. Walk on by!
Matt A reasonable selection of beers and nice food at a reasonable price. The service however is rubbish - the bar staff would rather chat to each other than serve the customers, and when they do they're the slowest bar staff ever!
Nick Hayne Not a bad pub, got a mix of lager and ales. You can have trouble getting the locals to relinquish the pool/snooker tables but it does have a good Rock jukebox if you like that kind of thing.
dave Best of the worst not too bad
Foods ok, not really one thing or
The other (fun pub or local)
Mainly students, good at lunch Times .and good if you like
Football on TV
eddy not a bad little place, tends to get a bit too cramped sometimes, and the landlord is a tad annoying.
Mat If I knew who "Bazola" was then I'm sure I'd agree with you, Les.
les never been the same since
