(Greedy
Cow)
(Simon)
We
wanted a curry, and I felt it was time for a change. So I rifled
through the leaflets that had come through the cowshed's letterbox,
and picked one at random.
The
Bull was sceptical about my choice. "Curry tonight?" he
bellowed. "I'm not sure about that."
But
I persevered. Their prices were extremely reasonable (perhaps due
to their lower overheads as a delivery-only service).
We
ordered our curry, and just under an hour later a man arrived bearing
a cardboard box that looked more like an Amazon order than a takeaway.
Inside
the box, though, things began to look more usual.
My
Chicken Razalla was delicious, and crammed with lots of fresh green
chillies. The Bull's chicken ceylon was tasty.
Instead
of our sag paneer (spinach and cheese) we received a sag aloo (spinach
and potato) - but it was nice, and we weren't really bothered. The
kabli channa (chickpeas) was very good.
The
onion bhaji was disappointing, though. It was a bit tasteless and
dry.
Portions
were extremely generous - there was enough left over for a curry
lunch for both of us the next day - and they even supply your curry
in microwaveable pots. Perfectly good.
Oh,
and they do pizzas too.
Christopher Holland If you want to experience authentic curry and its flavours, this is not for you. However, if you want the best tasting takeaway curry, try this. They are unique in employing quality cheifs and because of their non-eatin policy gives them the edge over other restuarants - Delivery time is excellent and packaging is good too (it's in a cardboard box and microwavable cartons) The man who answers the phone is friendly and polite and will suggest meals to suit your taste. Again, it's not what I consider authentic Indian cusiene, but for a takeaway its flavours are very addictive. It's my first choice for takeaway, and you should try it at least once. I do except that the chicken can be a bit dry sometimes though, so if the manager reads this again, it might be something to consider. That said and done though, the friendly staff, quick delivery and value for money make this restuarant highly recommended.
simon it was good
Ian I use this service regularly, so much so thqt I feel as if they know what I want as I talk to them. The service is good. The food of late has not been at the best but then how can you expect perfection every time with differnt chefs. It is a bit spicier than I would like but I always eat the lot, eventually. I would recommend this to anyone, and I do.
andrew i just liked to say that i had a curry a few weeks ago and it was not right. But when i saw the manager had promised to improve the food and service i gave them a call and ordered a few currys and they were so good i had to let people know that curry tonight should be tryed out.

raja Hi this is the manager from curry tonight i have read all the comments and i thank you for your views, good or bad now i have some feed back and i can improve on what has gone wrong i shall promise to you all what has happened shall not happen again thank you very much for your time and comments.
Robin Rubbish. Just tried it for the first time and it will be the last. The meat was very dry and the sauce was ok but had a random grape in it.
The peshwari nan was a complete let down, not sweet, no honey, raisons. It did have coconut but that was about it.
Delivery was fast though, they said 30/45 mins but arrived in 20.
Overall I won't be going back.
5/3/05 - Can other people put dates on their comments so that we know when we are talking about.
Sandra I think the quality & flavour of the food has gone down in recent months. The first few times I tried it, it was very good but then I ordered a curry & was very disapointed.. very bland. I have tried it again thinking it might have just been an 'off' night but no, the food was still very unintersting.
Very good packaging though, no leaks.
Paul Rodgerson Have used them lots of times and they seem to have lowered their standards of late. Bland undercooked rice and dry chicken were the latest problems. Maybe some items are now reheated for busy times?
Good portions though & very friendly & polite staff which counts for a lot in my book.
john horne currys generally v good but had a couple of iffy ones lately but still use them all the time. pizzas are absolute class, the meat feast is my recommendation. v professional
karen & colin Not sure I agree. We had veggi options all of which looked and tasted the same. Sag paneer best bit but only three bits of paneer, was disappointed, but is cheap.
Russell A regular user of curry tonight. Portions are good, food is great. Beware though, sometimes they go overboard with the spice. I like my curries HOT and curry tonight gave me a Vindaloo that was hotter than any Phaal that I've ever tasted.

Best takeaway curry in Sheffield (in my opinion). Food takes a while
to come - they swear they cook it fresh to order & it certainly
tastes like that. No takeaway or eat in but since they deliver for
free it couldn't be more convenient. Check out the Saag Paneer -
Yum yum yum. Very friendly staff. My friend (a very regular customer)
got a Christmas card from them. So good they're in my mobile.
