What's
your name? Paolo
Where
is it? Wild Rice, London Road, Sheffield
What's
the grub like, then? It can be quite difficult to get a decent
chinese/thai takeaway in Sheffield but Wild Rice manage it with
ease. The ingredients are fresh and the sauces not full of the usual
additives. A great starter is the aromatic crispy pork, a cheaper
alternative to the crispy duck but just as tasty with the pancakes
and 'special' sauce! All the rice dishes taste fresh and compliment
the main courses well. Try the Char Sui Pork Cantonese Style you
get a great size portion and the onions in the sauce are damn tasty!
What
did you drink? Cans of Pepsi or 7UP or bottles of Coke, standard
fayre really!
What's
the crowd like? I usually have the food delivered to my door
so the fellow diners are slightly dubious!
And
the vibe? If you collect your food the reception area is very
modern and stylish with the kitchens on display through a blue glass
wall, very entertaining!
Anything
else you'd like to say? Very customer friendly and prompt delivery,
a free special surprise with your main course is a good touch and
usually pretty tasty, there's also free chop sticks which adds to
the overall excellent impression. They could take debit cards tho,
cash or cheque only I'm afraid!
Value
for money? 10 - £12 for a starter, main and rice/noodles,
excellent value for the quality you get!

Mark Taylor Heard about this place through a friend so thought I'd try it out. Very different to your typical Chinese - modern decor, choice of Chinese AND thai, and restaurant quality food. Spot on.
Matt It's not particularly cheap but you get what you pay for. the food's great, and it's definitely the most stylish takeaway in Sheffield. 31/05/05
Kerry A great review, this takeaway is one of the best I have ever been too. 05/05/05
