What is the grub like, then?

Stupendous! I can highly recommend the seafood tart for starters. My wife and I both had steak and they were delicious. I couldn't manage a pudding, but my wife managed to squeeze in a lemon brulee, which she described as divine!!

What did you drink?
The wine list was a little limited so I just went for a bottle of house red, which for a house wine was very good.

What's the crowd like?
Very friendly!

And the vibe?

Not too rowdy, just right for a quiet meal for two. They do cater for larger parties though.

Anything else you'd like to say?

It's a little far out of the city, but well worth a visit.

Value for money?
It's fantastic value for money, especially if you go on a Wednesday or Thursday - Steak Nite!!

What's the grub like, then?
Providing traditional food to a good standard and quality.

What did you drink?
House wine - which I got free with a voucher from the last time I visited.

What's the crowd like?
Varies from business men during the week to familes and couples at the weekend.

And the vibe?
A relaxing and friendly atmosphere. There is a pub next door if you want to try real ale, otherwise enjoy the lounge.

Anything else you'd like to say?
Quite a choice of veggie food.

Value for money?
Good value for money given the quality of the food. Main meals vary from around £6 to £14 for the most expensive dish. The puddings were about £4 but tasted wonderful.

Been here three times. The A La Carte is superb - good range, some interesting dishes not too extravagant but do the basics really well. Also been on the deal Steak Night. It was absolutley rammed... and the staff had real difficulties keeping up. Steaks were a little below par that night, but everything else was super. Sunday lunches are also really good. On the whole I would really recommend the place. The decor is, well, rustic to say the least but comfortable. Make sure you book though, it's often full, even in advance. 4 out of 5 - steady
