What's your name?
David Morris

Where is it?
Mulan Chinese Restaurant, Main Road, Renishaw Sheffield S21 3UW

What's the number?
01246 433337

What's the grub like, then?
We had one of the banquet offerings for four. A mixed platter with all the usual stuff - mimi spring rolls, prawn sesame toast, salt and pepper ribs etc.

Our second course was hot and sour soup - enough for a bowl and a half each, followed by crispy aromatic duck with the trimmings - again, enough for three pancake each with some duck left over.

The main courses came - lovely rice, crispy shredded pork, sechzuan chicken and vegetables, prawns and vegetable in a birds nest, and two sizzlers - mixed meat and satay beef. Plenty to eat.

What did you drink?
The two boys had chinese beer which was pleasantly refreshing. The girls were on house dry white or water.

What's the crowd like?
No problems here. Families out for an evening meal, some larger parties out for ...err... a party, couples...

And the vibe?
Not too noisy (although the week before it was noisier and the service was slow - the second time service was excellent).

Anything else you'd like to say?
Technically, Renishaw is in N.E. Derbyshire, but it's only 20 minutes from the City Centre and less than 5 minutes from M1 J30. [I forgive you, David! - Greedy Cow]

We all enjoyed the meal, and I can see us sampling our way down the rest of the menu over the coming months!

Value for money?
Our suggested menu for four was £19 each, being the most expensive of the four set meals (which include a veggie option). There's the usual looking range of stuff you'd expect to see at a decent Chinese eating house.

Mulan is excellent - the food is first rate, and only a slight premium over average prices, very friendly and worth the 15 minute drive for me !

I agree with the review, but be warned, last time I ordered a veggie main meal I got meat!

really nice food and good value for money. Could not complain about anything on the menu. I have been many times and tried something different each time. The crispy shredded beef is excellent!

This review is pretty accurate, I recently went here for the first time and is was definitely one of the best Chinese meals I've had, the service was excellent and the staff really obliging. Well worth a visit.
