What's
your name?
Allie
Where
is it?
Montgomery Hall,
Surrey St,
Sheffield,
S1 2LG
What's
the number? 0114
272 1080
What's
the grub like, then?
Extremely good ! Part of me doesn't want to tell anyone about this
place coz I'm scared you'll all go there and I won't be able to
get a table anymore, but public service and all that.....
Been
on 3 occasions and each time have chosen from the main menu, although
they do an excellent VFM buffet option. The restaurant is Sicilian
and serve simple rustic food which is really tasty. The Spaghetti
al Cartoccio is sublime - foil baked pasta brimming with seafood,
topped with a monster of a King Prawn. Starters and bread also good
- and Greedy Cow, they marinate their olives properly!
What
did you drink?
Couple of bottles of the gutsy house red - £9 per bottle
What's
the crowd like?
Mixed - from couples to office workers to private parties
And
the vibe?
Can sometimes be a little quiet, depending on what time you go, but
pleasant background music and polite and helpful staff
Anything
else you'd like to say?
Give it a try - the menu is small but a refreshing change to most
mid-price Med restaurant menus around Sheffield at the moment. We
will be regular vistors from now on !
Value
for money?
2 main course, 2 bottles of wine, 1 coffee - £34 Very good

Andy I took my team to Maso for a post Christmas lunch. The Buffet was very poor, limited in variety and not very Italian either. It was a very quiet lunch time and yet they seemed to struggle to provide any quantity of food. We were kept waiting for sufficient food to serve the whole party. A very disapointing lunch. needless to say, we will not be returning.
Chris 6 of us went for the buffet lunch. Given the price, we had quite low expectations. As it turned out, our low expectations were a little optimistic. We were very disappointed. On offer was a weak soup and brochettes, cold rice and sweetcorn, cold aubergines, some cold tasteless stuff, an empty plate of salami, a vat of warm chicken legs, and an empty vat of warm pasta in an obviously over coloured sauce.
We ate one round of food and decided that this was all we could eat. We then went to the Yorkshire pudding factory to eat some food.
Keef & Kirsty Were going tomorrow, for our first wedding anniversary, I hope it’s as good as you all say
Tom I have just been for the all you can eat lunch buffet and i have to say it is possibly the worst meal i have ever had. I dont agree that bowls of lettuce and chicken wings can be classed as authentic italian. It was that bad i had to pick up some lunch from a sandwich shop on the way back. Avoid at all cost, utter shit
Alison Nice food, good service, a bit expensive
Helen Six of us went for the lunch buffet (all you can eat for £5.50). After reading the reviews on the Greedy Cow we were hopeful. Our hopes were speedily dashed, the buffet was small to say the least and was mainly cold food (not what you want on a blustery Sheffield day). The two hot dishes were a simple tomato pasta and chicken legs in sauce. Even though it was all you can eat I dont think the buffet was value for money considering it was mainly rice and beans! A disappointing experience in all.
Peter I celebrated my 43rd Birthday there with 20 guests. The food was great and Mario & Giovanna (The Owners)Helped to make the night special.
Try it
Pete
Raul I agree with you, i was there a couples of times, and i found it very good!!!!
