What's
your name?
Jane C
Where
is it?
234 Abbeydale Rd,
Sheffield,
S7 1FL
What's
the number? 0114
258 7664
What's
the grub like, then?
Standard Italian restaurant menu with a specials board. (though
this hasn't changed for a while!) We ate the garlic mushrooms with
Pernod, and a large garlic bread for starters. The garlic bread
was light and crisp, not stodgey - hurray! The mushrooms were good,
but the bread offered much better value.
I had the Pollo Pistachio - a nice chicken breast with a creamy/brandy
sauce, though I couldn't identify the nuts. It came with sauted
potatoes, cauliflower and carrots - but where were the greens?!
Husband had a delicious and huge Calazone (under £8) which
he assured me was delicious.
We were too full for puddings.
What
did you drink?
Glass of house white - £2.20. It is a BYO (not sure about
weekends) with a £1 corkage charge. Clientele - We were the
only people there at 6.30 on a Tuesday. I would have felt happy
taking the kids at this time.
What's
the crowd like?
There wasn't any. The music was a truly naff Italiano crooner. It
really needs a lick of paint to smarten it up a bit and to take
away the plain, uninteresting square room feeling. I think it is
more popular at the weekends.
And
the vibe?
The food and the waitress were very good - it just needs better
atmosphere and decor.
Value
for money?
It WAS good value for money. BUT you used to get a free mini starter
and a glass of Lemoncello with the bill. These were nice touches
that are now no longer with us. The bill came to £26, and
we felt full!!

Emily Agree with Helen, have been several times and never been disappointed. Managed a pudding for the first time last week! - vanilla cheesecake - delicious. Good value for money, good friendly service. Excellent choice for a low-key relaxed meal.
Helen We have been to Luna Rossa multiple times and have never had a bad meal. Portions are huge one time we struggled to get through the starter.
