What's
your name?
Lesley
Where
is it?
ChaCha's 32
Bowden Street
Sheffield
S1 4HA
What's
the number? 0114
201 2653
What's
the grub like, then?
All you can eat Indian Buffet with selection of many dishes that
you can sample. The Korma was nice, if a little watery, the bhaji's
good, the chicken tikka lovely.
Good
selection of about 10 starters, main and variety of rice dishes.
Good veggie selection too.
Desserts
consist of icecream in vanilla and strawberry - very powdery, cheap
tasting stuff!!
What
did you drink?
Wine and beer-limited selection of Beers but tasted good.
What's
the crowd like?
went Sunday night so not busy, as expected, but about 30 people
in, couples and a few parties
And
the vibe?
Nice-soft music playing, but plenty of conversation
Anything
you'd like to add? Distinct lack of poppadums, although that could be because it
was Sunday early evening. Ice cream was disappointing but starters
and main were very good.
Will
definitely go again, although maybe on weekend this time.
Value
for money?
Costs start at £5.50 for lunchtime, through to £9.50
on Fri & Sat.
We
paid £6.50 and definitely got our monies worth!! Assume you
get more selection of food, the more it costs.

John M Food was pretty good, good idea and very pleasant decor for an indian. Watch out for though as some of the curry carries a good kick which I liked, nice mushroom pakora too! Great value!
Anjay I am from India and have tried out many of the "Indian" eating places in Sheffield.
This place scores high on the following areas:
1.Wide variety of both non-veg and veg dishes.
2. Authentic home made taste, at least for a few of the dishes.
3.Very cost effective-its around 8 pounds for a buffet. If you order any two microwave-colour-sauce "curry" from any take-away it costs more than that.
There is no point complaining about the service.this is a buffet..and thankfully, there are no Popadums for "starters".
On the downside the dessert lets one down...they could try some Indian desserts.
Sheff Steve Food's not bad here, one major problem if you're a smoker though, when I went only a couple of months ago I was told I couldn't leave the restaurant to smoke and be allowed to re-enter. They'd had problems with people not paying..needless to say I shall not return.
dave set in a rough part of town, replete with shady downstairs club-bar, on entering the restaurant we were struck by the decor: shabby and underwhelming. arriving just five minutes earlier than our reserved time, we were shunted downstairs and told to wait our turn. when we were finally seated, we were reseated a mere moment later (despite reservation, without appology) - moved instantly into the corner, out of the way. service overall absymal. food would maybe get 3/4 out of 10. no choice but to buffet. oh, and the dessert.. ice cream out of industrial vats. mmm. we'll never return.
Sarah You pay extra for poppadums and they were like stale cardboard. The rest of the food really good with great choice.
Jason Visited three times in total and have never been disapointed - all late evening and have definatly gotten my (our) moneys-worth. :)
I've recomended the place and have always been thanked for it.
Natalie Great night out, liked the idea that theres a bar downstairs with a resident foul mouthed he she dj to keep us entertained pre and post meal.
The meal itself was great, with complementary wine thrown in ( about 10 of us went ) the starters were a real treat and the selection of currys fab, the only downside was the place it'self it just reminded me of the canteen at my senior school, but none the less a good night out at great value
Jane Watkins FABTASTIC AND SCRUMPTIOUS, I'LL DEFINITELY BE GOING BACK 08/06/05
andrew Good selection and enjoyed all the courses of the meal would rate it very good
Arul Agree with the rest of the positive comments regarding the starters and the main course. Will be perfect if they include a selection of Indian desserts.

Stirk Bogarde Fully agree with all the positive comments. Speaking as a veggie, I'd say that this place has the best vegetarian dishes of any of the Indian restaurants I've been to in Sheffield - my guess is that they must have some vegetarians on their cooking staff. With a big selection you can help yourself to without waiting, at a good price, you can't go wrong. The starters are great too. Might be nice to have some more interesting desserts though.

Prune Yup, definitely good deal for your money - we paid £6.50 each and were stuffed! Okay, so dessert is only icecream, but it's good icecream and it cools your stomach down after curries! Try to eat very slowly and don't have much before you go...just a little breakfast!
Lesley Visited this place again recently, this time on a Friday night at 6.30pm. The place was packed full and there were queues of people waiting for tables. Luckily we had booked. If you are going on a weekend, ring and book in advance.
Also there is a nice bar underneath the restaurant if you do find yourself having to wait a while!!
