Brecon Hotel, 49 Moorgate Road, Rotherham, S60
What's

What's
the grub like, then?
Excellent, large portions, well cooked, high standard.
Changing
menu, but favourites, try the Duck in Plum Sauce, With the filled
horshoe Mushrooms (bacon and cheese)for starter and Sherry trifle
for afters, £22 for two special offer.
The
Al a Cart'e is beyond the expectations of visitors (small friendly
hotel), especially the fish dishes (the Salmon and Plaice Rouland
was Maxim's standard).
My
favourite, Yorkshire pudding with Onion Gravy, Braised steak (so
much couldnt eat it all), Sherry Trifle (good Yorkshire Grub).
Good
value for the quality and portion sizes.
What
did you drink?
Well selected housewine, willing to offer alternative if your particular
favourite not on menu. Beer usual good standard for Yorkshire.
What's
the crowd like?
A 21st disco next door, but guests at party were pleasant, asked
what the food was like, some asked if they were any sittings later.
Most 50 plus ish, but some 20 somethings
And
the vibe?
Very pleasant, chatty
Anything
else you'd like to say?
You have to book ahead, no chance off the cuff, this is a popular
pleasant Hotel. Cheaper than the Greenhead and without the au de
viors and style, but standard high.
Value
for money?
Great value, especially the Monday and Friday 2 for one menus
Neil Lewis Living not far from the Brecon we go there alot and we are never disappointed. Service and quality of the food is excellent..well worth a visit.
