A certificate for finishing a pie?! Sounds like a challenge to me... let me know if you manage it as poor old Martin couldn't quite make it!

What's the grub like, then?
The food was lovely, I had "Dans" home made cow pie and my partnet had the salmon. I'm told if you finish the pie you get a certificate. SOrry to say I didn't get a certificate, too big a challenge for me!

What did you drink?
Cask beer Tomothy Tailors Landlord, excellent.

What's the crowd like?
Friendly.

And the vibe?
Very cosy with real fires burning.

Anything else you'd like to say?
THis is what we call a proper pub with oak beams, low ceilings, well worth a visit.

Value for money?
For both of us it cam to less than £13.

What's your name?

Loraine

What's the grub like, then?
Fabulous, my daughter came over from N Ireland and she literally cleared her plate, I had the sirloin and it was as good if not better than some of the posh restaurants I have been in.

What did you drink?
I had cider because it was fairly early in the evening and it was well pulled and very very cold, just how I like it

What's the crowd like?
Very nice, spoke or nodded as we went in, considering we were virtual strangers

And the vibe?
Very very friendly, lovely clean pub

Anything else you'd like to say?
There were dishes suitable for vegetarians

Value for money?
With 2 meals and 2 drinks it came to around £18.00. Good value for money

After reading the comments on greedy cow we thought this has got to be worth a try so off we trot me and my hubby straight from work off for a couple of drinks and some tea i had orange juice so i cant comment on the drinks really but my husband had Tim Tailors Landlord beer and he said it was spot on .I chose the haddock and chips and Simon had the cow pie both meals were brilliant my haddock was hanging over the plate and tasted lovely when his pie came i thought he was going to fall off the chair is was that big , and no he didn't finish it and get his certificate but he said it was very good and the meat in the pie was something else .Nice oldie worldy pub i think the comments of Karen were a bit irrelevent to what greedy cow is mainly about we had good food , good drinks bar staff were very pleasant and ok the place might need a bit of wall paper here and there and they don't take credit cards but that's what we go to the Bay Horse for because its like going back in time to an old fashioned pub like they used to be . We will definitely be using this place on a regular basis .I SAY KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK BAY HORSE AND KEEP THINGS AS THEY ARE . PS WELL DONE FOR JUST WINNING ROTHERHAM CAMRA PUB OF THE SEASON 2005

I went to The Bay Horse based on the opinions on this website and I'm afraid I was disappointed. The wall paper was peeling, the bar lady didn't seem to know what she was doing, there was no atmosphere, the food was mediocre and they didn't accept cards (or so the bar lady told us - I'm still not convinced) so my hubbie had to drive to the nearest cashpoint to get money out. Sorry, but I wouldn't go here again. 3/10/05

Lovely food my husband had Big Dans Pie and just managed to eat it all. It was crammed full of lean and tender meat. I had chicken in white wine sauce that was also excellent, it came with home made chips, onion rings and salad. The portions are huge and really good value for money, around £28 for 4. The best pub food I have ever had will definitely go back and highly recommend to others. 10/10

Went to the Bay Horse on the recommendation of the comments on Greedy Cow. What a meal with the pie full of succulent meat and delicious gravy. The staff are friendly and the beer is well kept. What more can you ask ?. 07/04/05

We went to The Bay horse recently and it was one of the nicest places that we have to in ages. The food was plentiful and very well cooked and the Landlord was very friendly and helpful. We will definately be going back. 10 out of 10!
