What's your name?
Louise Wilford

Where is it?
192 Bawtry Rd,
Wickersley,
Rotherham,
S66 1AA

What's the number?
01709 701700

What's the grub like, then?
I don't know why this place isn't more widely known as it serves excellent food at an extremely reasonable price. We have eaten here several times.

The starters are particularly great - we usually have onion bhajis and chicken tikka, not exactly adventurous but excellent quality, nice fresh salad, lovely raita accompaniment.

Main courses come with rice or bread included. I've had korma and biriani, both very good, and my partner has tried several different dishes which were all very good.

What did you drink?
The house red is okay - the house white tastes like poor quality apple juice. The waitress poured half my glass from a different bottle, then claimed it was 'corked' because a tiny piece of cork was floating in it, showing a lack of understanding about what 'corked' means. She threw it away and poured me some more. The proper bottles of wine are pretty good, however, I'm told, with a good range.

What's the crowd like?
Mixed. It can be a bit noisy if it's full, as its decorated in a modern way with wood floors etc. Clientele range from casually-dressed to 'special night out' types.

And the vibe?
Pleasant, friendly - not particularly lively, but pleasant staff. Has a small bar area at the front.

Anything else you'd like to say?
Definitely worth checking out if you live in the area. We drive there from Barnsley quite often, suggesting that we think it's worth the effort.

Value for money?
Food is excellent value for money and there is lots of free parking right outside.

absolute rubbish. Had to wait ages for table. Food mediocre both quantity & quality. Rushed out without even being offered dessert or coffee after an appallingly long wait for main courses. Bill was not available to take away with us. Will not be going back nor recommending this place to anyone

We visit Amaans regularly and always find the quality of the food, drinks and service excellent. Everyone that I know who has eaten there has returned.

Went recently with hubby and friends. Will definitely be going back. We all really enjoyed the food, drink, service and atmosphere of the place. All the food was great but I would recommend the chicken shashlik (sorry if spelling wrong). Also heard the tandoori mixed grill is nice.
