The Yew Tree Inn, Loxley New Road, Malin Bridge, Sheffield
What's

What's
the grub like, then?
To say that this is what you might call a "George Whitebread" type
of pub (i.e. pints of bitter and whippets) the menu here actually
boasts things other than steak and ale pie.
Though
this might not be nouvelle cusine, the food is well prepared and
of good quality. All in all a superior form of pub meal.
What
did you drink?
A pint of Guiness, and not a bad one at that.
What's
the crowd like?
The fairly average crowd of families out for a Sunday lunch and
as it was a warm day plenty of men wearing shorts who really shouldn't.
And
the vibe?
Fine. You have the odd staring bloke in the corner who can't decide
whether he wants to fight you or not because you're not wearing
a football shirt, but it's pretty relaxed otherwise.
Anything
else you'd like to say?
Think before you order the combo platter as a starter if you have
less than at least three people to tackle it. Unlike the similar
platters offered by places like a certain well known chain of American
pizza restaurants, the damn thing is huge.
Value
for money?
Starters average around £4 and main courses go from £5 to about
£9. And you do get a good sized portion for your money.

What's
the grub like, then?
The food at the Yew Tree is allways great, with a varied menu, suitable
for everyone, good size portions which are priced fairly and food
cooked and prepared as you like. Its also very tasty!
What
did you drink?
I had myself a pint of tetleys smooth ale, and although this beer
has not allways tickled my tastebuds (more of a real ale lover)
I can say that it went down a treat. Lovely on a hot day!
What's
the crowd like?
The staff at the Yew Tree are very professional yet very friendly.
they will go out of there way for you if need be.
And
the vibe?
There was a nice relaxed atmosphere in the upstairs bar (where the
restaurant area is) with your usual regulars sat at the bar. It
was the same downstairs, although the music was a playing a little
louder, but you can play what you like on the juke box as it has
over 2 million tracks (One of those computer touch screen juke boxes)!
Anything
else you'd like to say?
All in all this is a fantastic pub, and I will keep coming as often
as possible!!!
Value
for money?
This food here is excellent value for money and makes up for the
price of drinks, which are priced fairly but a little more expensive
than other pubs in the area.

Beth I live here n i think its fab
Bash (YTMA) Love the food, mixed grill is really good apart from the lamb chops that were pink! strange that when i asked for it all to be "well done"...good place to be at the weekends, especially Sunday nights when it gets packed with locals getting merry on "Diesel".....
