What's
your name?
David Hoffs
Where
is it?
The Pavilion,
Cannon Hall Park,
Cawthorne,
Barnsley,
S75 4AT
What's
the number? 01226
792777
What's
the grub like, then?
Lovely - they do an expanding range of light snacks and slightly
larger meals. They also do all kinds of delicious cakes including
chilled cheescakes for hot summer days. I had a cheese and tomato
panini bread with char grilled peppers. It was perfectly toasted
and quite delicious!
What
did you drink?
Mocha latte - they serve a wide range of coffees and teas (including
yummy iced coffee). Their kids drinks consist largely of fresh juices
and milk - they make a point of serving healthy foods.
What's
the crowd like?
Quite varied - lots of families enjoying the park but the Pavilion
is starting to attract an upmarket clientele.
And
the vibe?
Very relaxed and welcoming. The staff were quite funny and obviously
cared for their customers. It's a beautiful setting, with seating
looking out over Cannon Hall park, withi some seating inside. They
also sell craft items, including nice flower arrangements.
Anything
else you'd like to say?
The Pavilion opened relatively recently (Easter 2004) but has established
well and is probably the best cappucino bar in Barnsley!
Value
for money?
Yes. It's not the cheapest cafe in the area but by far the nicest
(especially compared to the Cannon Hall farm cafe - yuk!). It cost
just over £5 for a panini bread sandwich and a latte. Not
cheap but a good meal in beautiful surroundings. And they do have
cheaper options.
