What's
the grub like, then?
I went in to treat myself after a very early start. Ordered full
English Breakfast, not tomatoes and black pudding as an extra. It
was tasteless, the fried bread was just grease - not texture, the
bacon was underdone, the beans watery and the black pudding was
dry! It wasn't even very hot and got no toast to go with it.
What
did you drink?
Nothing - if it was like the food - phew!
What's
the crowd like?
Not very busy, subdued
And
the vibe?
Very subdued - staff seemed to intimidate
Anything
else you'd like to say?
Service took a long time for a cafe in a supermarket!!
Value
for money?
Very bad value for money cost £4.50

What's the grub like, then?
Waited half an hour for cold breakfast on a cold plate a BIG NO
for my other half!! The only warm thing was the egg on top of his
lodships cold brekkie.
The
place was packed Sunday morning but only one till and one older
assistant seemed to know what she was doing. Numerous studenty types
floating around looking vague.
What did you drink?
Coffee from machine not bad.
What's the crowd like?
Usual supermarket crowd.
And the vibe?
Noisy. Saw several complaining about wait.
Anything
else you'd like to say? We got
our money back as did others.
Value
for money? Definitely
not that Sunday. Over £3 for a stone cold plateful.
fiona my partner and i go for coffee and a sarnie in morrisons cafe once a week, great value for money and good grub. i would reccommend the cod and chips.
Graham We go there a lot and have always found everything OK.
Food is tasty and hot. Always found the staff friendly. Nothing cordon bleu but this is a supermarket cafe for goodness sake. I Think it odes the job well.
Moomoomoo
Gemma Wilson I used to work in the cafe, if their is something to moan about, you bet everyone will complain. I would like to say just relax and try to enjoy your time their instead of going in with some of the attitudes shown on this site. You never know you might actually like it!!
nicola i used to work in a Morrison cafe and i can tell you that all the staff work very hard and it's gets to me when people carry on about the cafe they don't see what happens in the back, they dont see all the staff running around trying to make sure that is clean tables and things are fulled up and do they not think that staff have to have breaks next time you see staff talking don't just say thier gebbing staff are here to help you in the best way they can . so a job welldone to all the staff and keep up the good work and keep on smiling
Helen I have been to a few different Morrisons restaurants and found the portions to be on the large side and for great prices. Haven't tried the breakfasts but can recommend the cod and chips. Agree with the comments on staff needing to smile more though.
MB I'm surprised by some parts, but not by others.
I used to work for Morrisons and know what it's like for the staff. The managers (especially in the cafe!) are under constant pressure from the lazy students they are unfortunately stuck with a lot of the time. Of course that is no excuse for bad service and cold food, but you'd be surprised how much there is to do...
I used to have the sausages everytime I worked a morning shift, they serve almost the same food in the staff canteen. You cannot buy the sausages they serve in the cafe - which is a shame as I love them ! The sausage, chips and beans is a safe bet, especially after a few beers the night before !
mike dean morrisons policy is to take the customers order and have the meal served within 7 minutes. a realistic target?
cheery i work in a morrisons cafe..
all we get the whole shift is profesional complainers complaining...... they eat the food...come up to the counter and sneakily fill their teapots with more hot water.... get their money back..... then complain on their way out... only to come in the next day and do the same.......
we are so short staffed and we are running about stupid trying to get people fed... at one time tonight, i had 11 tables to feed on my own... my assistant was on the till and the other was clearing tables... so please.... before you complain.... have a little look and see what kind of conditions the staff are under.....cheers..xx
Danielle Petty I am apalled at these reviews, theres nothing I like more than a morrisons lunch!

Mark Morris The Food was great and the staff was better, i go every week after a saturday shop and my wife and kids love it. thumbs up to the cafe crew
Lesley Went to the cafe in Eckington Morrisons for breakfast. Ended up at Hallamshire Hospital as a bone in my food went straight through the roof of my mouth!! Food not bad though.......
Marco Portalori morrisons is not at all value for money. i have eaten there a couple of times. the managers there are always in a mood about something but i think the staff are great!!!
food critic I have been in quite a few Morrison's cafe's around the country and found them to be very good value for money, staff could smile more, as far as service not too bad on the whole
Gourmet Morrison's at Ecclesfield is MUCH better than Hillsbrough - the food does taste like it would in a Barracks!
Been to Morrisons in Cleethorpes, Blackpool and Scarborough - all as good as Ecclesfield.
christopher beechill i worked there for work experience and i used to have my breakfast in that cafe every morning.
Nicky Mooman Having tried both the breakfast and a fish and chip "meal" from this cafe, I can only re-iterate the above comments. The Morrison's cafe is not a good advert for their "own-brand" products, and the staff couldn't make you feel more uncomfortable if they tried.
