What's
your name?
Helen
Where
is it?
Heeley City Farm Cafe, Heeley City Farm, Richards Road, Sheffield,
S2
What's
the number? 0114
258 0482
What's
the grub like, then?
I had a lovely deep bowlful of mixed vegetable soup - thick and
wholesome with a subtle warmth of chilli. It was served with chunks
of delicious poppy seed and walnut bread and a little dish of real
butter (none of that nasty catering spread here)
My
dining partner treated himself to two fried free range eggs on toast
after spotting the tell-tale orange yolk of a tasty egg on a fellow
diner's plate. He professed them to be the best eggs he'd eaten
in ages!
We
shared a chunky slice of homemade date and walnut cake for afters
- very tasty indeed.
What
did you drink?
Two huge mugs of tea for only 50p each!
What's
the crowd like?
A mixture of young families and older Sheffielders of a bohemian
persuasion
And
the vibe?
Warm and cosy with really friendly staff - you could see the chefs
in the kitchen cooking up what looked to be a fabulous mixture of
vegetarian quiches...
Value
for money?
Excellent value for money, I think we spent about £6 altogether.

I've never eaten here, but I had one of the worst cups of coffee of my life here. It tasted as though they had added instant coffee to tea. At least it was cheap (and the City Farm's worth a visit).
