Isn't it great how this has turned into a discussion about what people look like in there? Anyway- food is average, beer is average and it gets too full at night. Quite nice in the day though. Especially for people who look as sexy as me, etc.

This place is absolutely dreadfull. Full of pretty boys with highlights and mullets and girls who are old enough to know better with just a little too much flesh on show. The beer is never up to much and the staff have no idea of first come first served. The one time I ate there the food was overcooked/burnt yet cold and they charged us for wine we hadn't ordered and insisted we paid for (which I didn't).

most of the comments made so far seem to be from really jealous people..jealous of what?i hear you cry!! Well jealous of the fact that this is a really nice place to go,and people in there actually look good and most of them are really nice as well! my friends and i go here on a regular basis and find the food to have been great every time, its never been overly priced!! As for the people in there, well it's quite funny people say everyone in there is from dore/ranmoor...It is pretty close to these areas! The cocktails are really nice and cheap at that!! I WOULD recommend this place to anyone!

Champs is the place to be for all screened sporting events, a variety of sports on innumerable screens, you’ll see a different piece of memorabilia every time you go in! Large party offers always on. It’s a sports lover’s haven. Chicken wings spot on! Staff great! You don’t like it, don’t go in, it will still be one of (if not THE) best bar in Sheffield in 1000’s of peoples hearts!

The food is awful - poor quality and badly cooked. From the party I went with, 4 of us had burnt food, not what you;d expect for their extortionate prices..

Why did Kate want to 'genuinely' like Champs? I genuinely wanted to agree with her but could not. I am one of those who loves champs and all it stands for. Pretentiousness is the key, all the knockers of Champs do so because they can barely afford to look in through the windows and drool over the cool people inside.

Champs, chimps, chumps, whatever the name may be this place stinks. The stench of feigned success/social standing amongst the monkey's frequenting this place, mixed with the putrid smell of cheap aftershave and perfume permeating from 'designer' shirted blokes and orange tinted 'ladies' took me back to a holiday Mrs O'Sullivan and I suffered in Blackpool last year. Indeed a bath was required once we'd returned home as I had to wash that place right out of my hair.

Full of Fullwood types ,Three bob millionaires, rolling rock two for one not fit to wash your feet with ,apart from that ok go for the cocktails..

The food is of a low quality and the bar is cram packed with pretentious people and girls weraing very little. I genuinely did want to like this place, but am constantly let down by the quality of the food and the customers in champs. I agree that it is people from the other side of town pretending that this is their local, sprinkled with a few jumped up students. Overall a poor venue.
Sandra
Chumps or Chimps, either one sums it up. Can think of better places to spend my hard earned cash.

i just ahve to disagree with the point that champs is full of ranmoor and dore boys. i founf quite the opposite. its full of people from the other side of town pretending to be from this end! pretty trashy. but the blooming onion is great.
The Bard
A total hovel of a place, frequented by a galaxy of mummys boys from the Ranmoor/ Dore end of town. It has all the soul of a Gary Barlow track, the ale is overpriced and makes the plop served in the Fat Cat seem palatable. Only enter if you have a brain the size of a peanut.

This bar is terrible, yes a wide variety of drinks but in the same breath full of idiots. I think it's time the sign writers came in and renamed it CHIMPS, as I've never seen such and unruly mob of hairy gorrillas with the brain power of snails.

Champs is a very lively bar. A good place to meet people before heading into town, although a little restraint as to how many people they actually let in the place would add a lot to comfofrt factor.
Depsite this, I would still recommend it.
