Samira Ahmed is an award-winning journalist with more than 30 years experience. Born in Wandsworth and brought up in south London, she began her career in 1990 as a BBC Trainee, afterwards working as a correspondent and reporter on the likes of the Today programme and Newsnight. Notably, she covered the OJ Simpson case as the BBC’s Los Angeles Correspondent in the mid 90s. Currently she presents Front Row on Radio 4 and Newswatch on the BBC News channel. Outside of journalism she is the president of the Twentieth Century Society, and author of a BFI Film Classics book on the Beatles' first film A Hard Day's Night.
