Some vets and animal charities have told the BBC an increasing number of pet owners are having their sick animals put down, or delaying taking them for treatment, to avoid spiralling bills. However, the British Veterinary Association says the fees reflect the prices businesses needed to charge to remain financially viable and open. 5 Live listeners got in touch to share their thoughts with Nicky Campbell.
