41. August - Helping out the Bees

Terry Walton's Plotcast

Available for over a year

Down to earth advice on growing your own fruit and vegetables with allotment gardener Terry Walton, from his plot in the Rhondda Valley. The pumpkin plant is spreading across the span of the plot, so it's time to give it some help to produce the best pumpkins with hand pollination. Terry explains how to identify the male and female flowers and why the plants sometimes need some help. It's also time to harvest the second early potatoes and dry and bag them in order to store them safely. If you have a question for Terry about your own crops, e mail AskTerry@bbc.co.uk and attach a photo of your plants if it'll help your explanation Producer: Lynda Shahwan
