5 Live listeners have been sharing their thoughts on Labour’s plans to add VAT to private school fees. Labour says it will use the money raised, thought to be around £1.5bn, to pay for one of its key pledges to recruit 6,500 more state school teachers. The Conservatives say Labour is punishing hard-working parents. Around 6-7% of children in the UK attend private school, with average fees around £15,200 a year. Nicky Campbell spoke to listeners about their thoughts on the policy.
