Professor Ruth Robbins tells the story of ‘Sternberg’ who haunts the space. Vincent Sternberg, who was first sighted in 1884 by the librarian at the time John MacAlister. The present staff have also reported unexplained activity including footsteps on the galleries, feelings of being watched and even a full-bodied apparition.
