The rare disorder, pain hyperacusis, has a huge impact on the daily life of sufferers. Even sounds such as laughter and music can cause debilitating headaches. The cause is unclear, but it can be linked to other conditions such as migraines and tinnitus. Karen Cook has been living with the ever-worsening health condition for 18 months.
