Elgin Marbles: do they belong in Britain?

Voice of the UK

Available for over a year

On Sunday the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, said having some of the sculptures in London and the rest in Athens is like ripping the Mona Lisa in half. A government source says Downing Street believed they had assurances from the Greek government that they would not raise this issue in public while the Greek PM was in the UK - so in response Rishi Sunak cancelled a planned meeting with Mr Mitsotakis. The Greek PM expressed his "annoyance" at the snub in a statement saying he regretted not having the chance to talk about them and other international challenges such as "Gaza; Ukraine; the climate crisis; migration.” So what do you think - was Mr Sunak right to cancel the meeting? Where is the right place for these marbles? Nicky has been getting your reaction….
