Virgin Galactic’s commercial spaceflight, ‘Galactic 02’, took University of Aberdeen student, Ana Mayers, and her mum, Keisha, to space. They won a place on the once-in-a-lifetime-trip in a competition, and in turn became the first mother-daughter duo to fly to space together. The pair, along with 80-year-old former Olympian Jon Goodwin, took off from Spaceport America in New Mexico on the 10th of August. The flight lasted around 90 minutes, and they experienced zero gravity at an altitude of around 280,000ft, where they got a very special view of the planet. But what is it like to experience all of this, with your mum right beside you? For 5 Minutes On, BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Nihal Arthanayake speaks to Ana to find out. (Image: Virgin Galactic)
