Somalia - a country on the verge of famine

Hundreds of thousands of Somalis – many trapped by conflict – are facing the prospect of famine. Young children are dying in growing numbers and government officials have told the BBC that a far greater “catastrophe” could sweep across the country within days or weeks unless more international aid arrives immediately.
