Available for over a year

When Gloucester rugby star Ed Slater started feeling muscle twitches in his arm 11 months ago, he didn't think much of it. He'd felt twitches like these before so took it two or three months before he told anyone. But, when until it started happening 24/7, he decided to go for a check-up and got a diagnosis that shocked him and his family. At the end of July, he announced he'd been diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) and confirmed his retirement from rugby union with immediate effect. Now - he's talking about it publicly for the first time. For 5 Minutes On, BBC Breakfast's Sally Nugent speaks to Ed about what it's like to face up to a life-changing diagnosis.
