Yehya Mougharbel is a student at Surrey University. During Covid lockdowns - to impress a love interest who “didn’t think he had his life together” - he started live streaming his daily studying routine on TikTok. But Yehya had no idea what was about to happen. Soon, thousands of people were tuning in to the streams to use him as a virtual study buddy. His sessions can last hours at a time and literally involve him propping his phone up and then working in silence. His love interest may not have been impressed, but his now half a million followers clearly are. Students from all over the world tune in to work with him.
