Tens of thousands of young carers in England may be missing out on support because councils don’t even know they exist - despite them having a duty to identify and assess children who are caring. A Freedom of Information request suggests that local authorities are unaware of 75% of young people who are responsible for caring for others. For 5 Minutes On, the BBC's Jeremy Cooke meets Amy, who's 13, and Kim, who's 10. Together, they cook, clean, shop and provide constant, essential support to their mum who has kidney failure.
