Serenade for Strings

Experience Classical

Available for over a year

Serenade is too 'small' a word for this feast of music for strings. It has all the hallmarks of Tchaikovsky: superb melodies, effecting harmonies and vigorous rhythms. The opening is so good - big tune, deep richly emotional harmonies - that Tchaikovsky used it to finish the work off too! Composer: Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky Performer: BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra Conductor: Ilan Volkov Recording date: 19 June 2009 Date of broadcast: 14 December 2009
