Prokofiev's 'Lieutenant Kije' was originally composed to accompany the Russian film of the same name in 1934. After the film's release it was performed as a suite of 5 movements. The third movement 'Kije's Wedding' depicts the celebrations, love and laughter of a wedding party. The jovial brass and the woodwind all set the scene.
