Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast. Today they have highlights from the BBC's recent prog rock Prom. The event, which took place at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms season, celebrated progressive rock with brand new orchestral arrangements of songs by Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Jethro Tull, Focus, Mike Oldfield and more. It featured guest singers including Guy Garvey, Jane Weaver, Gruff Rhys and The Staves and was hosted by TV and radio's Stuart Maconie. Stuart has all the backstage goss as well as musical highlights from the evening. Also on the show ... long-running feature The Chain which gives listeners the chance to pick a track that links in some way to the last. The list now contains over 8,800 songs.
