When Artificial intelligence giant Anthropic goes public on the US stock market, as it now plans, it's expected to be valued at nearly one trillion dollars. This is just the latest sign of us all entering the age of AI, but are we doing so in control of this new technology and how it could transform our society? The Pope last week called for AI to be disarmed to prevent it from dominating humanity while two former prime ministers - both with links to the AI industry in different ways - underlined its importance in interviews on the Today programme.
