A garden encounter with a sparrowhawk is short and often dramatic. As it makes a raid on the bird table, it often carries off one of the birds feeding there. Chris Baines invites ornithologist Andrew Cannon into his suburban garden to find out how the birds of prey reflect the health of the local bird population.
