This film revolves around Karan Kapoor (Saif Ali Khan) who works as a cartoonist with one of India's leading newspapers.

His daily column comes under the title of Hum Tum (meaning Me and You).

The concept of his cartoon characters bares no resemblance to any countries, religions or political borders - its simply Hum Tum.

Rani Mukerjee as Rhea
Rani Mukerjee is Rhea in Hum Tum

There is a woman in Karan's life. Her name is Rhea (Rani Mukerjee). Both have been meeting on a regular basis at various stages in their lives. But every meeting has ended on a bad note.

Karan's first incident started with Rhea in Amsterdam. They disagreed on everything. So to put things right, Karan innocently kissed her... to confirm their friendship.

No prizes for guessing how that meeting ended…whammm…It's then that Karan realised Rhea's unstable nature - and that she had a heavy hand!

Six months flew past and once again these two characters meet in New York.

Well…let's just say, Rhea hadn't forgotten the Amsterdam kiss and decides to spill the beans to Karan's steady girlfriend. Another relationship down the drain!

It's been 10 years since their first encounter. Once again Rhea and Karan become friends despite their differences.

Rhea has gone through some personal tragedies in her life, lots of ups and downs but Karan has always been there for her.

During this time she has moved all over the place, from Mumbai to Paris to New York and back to Mumbai.

Karan even tried fixing her up with a friend of his - with her mothers permission of course - but as with everything else, this didn't quite work out either.

As luck would have it, Karan's career as a cartoonist was soaring and so one thing led to another and Rhea took off once again on a bad terms.

Saif Ali Khan plays the role of Karan, a cartoonist

But despite their mishaps, destiny has bigger plans for Karan and Rhea.

So why not Hum Tum (meaning me and you) get together on May 28th 2004 to find out more in a cinema near Tum.

The music for this Yash Raj presentation will be releasing on 9th April 2004 world wide. The musical score for this film is composed by Jatin-Lalit.

Kunal Kholi who directed Muhjse Dosti Karoge, takes on the directorial reigns once again with this Yash Raj Films venture.

Renowned for making excellent quality films, Hum Tum is bound to enter the UK top ten charts upon its release.
