We caught up with the Radio 1 DJ on Friday evening ahead of his Sunday stint in the Slam Tent.

Are you looking forward to T this year?

Absolutely, yeah! I've never been to T in the Park before but I have lots of Scottish memories.

What kind of response do you get from the Scottish crowd?

I love it in Scotland - the crowd always give an amazing response. I play quite a lot in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee: at One Big Weekend people were going barmy!

Are there any acts you're looking foward to seeing?

I'd love to catch Sigur Ros, but I don't think I'll be up there on time. Primal Scream are incredible. I saw them at One Big Weekend and they were the best they've been in ages.

There's a lot of good stuff happening in the Slam tent - I'll be there with the Scottish techno massive.

Have you got any advice for the festival punters?

Um... stay out of the sun? Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong country...

What are your plans for the rest of the summer?

I'll be going to loads of festivals - Big Chill, Latitude, V - everything from the little, cool festivals to the massive ones.

Me and the wife will be getting in the campervan and travelling about. Maybe we'll get our son a little tie-dye baby grow and start him at the festivals early.
