Goldfrapp played the Radio 1 / NME Stage at 2000 on Saturday.
Time for something a little different, a little more dramatic.
Goldfrapp stride masterfully through a set so polished it shines.
It may be glossy, but it's never too far away away from being
down and dirty.
Alison's voice - the cause of much performance-cancelling strife
last week - has recovered and sounds remarkable, high notes
soaring over the audience. It's a fine spectacle, particularly
during an effortless Ooh La La. "Oh, the glamour,"she
deadpans.
Credit always goes to Goldfrapp, particularly at summer mud-fests,
for putting that extra effort into the visuals. Tonight a posse
of blue horse-tails on legs strike menacing poses to the sleazy
bassline of Strict Machine. Even if these ladies do appear to
have put their leotards on upside-down it's an amazingly alluring
sight.
Oh the glamour.
