Who remembers Tommy Handley and the gang. One of their favorite songs went:-
Down in the jungle living in a tent,
Better than a pre-fab no rent.

I have to correct you! "Down in the jungle, living in a tent; better than a prefab - no rent!" appeared in Charlie Chester's "Stand Easy" show on BBC Radio in 1946. Charlie's anarchic humour was just as good as Tommy Handley's fantastic "I.T.M.A." that we all listened to so avidly during and immediatly after the War. A worthy successor to these great BBC shows (they include "Life with the Lyons", "Up the Pole" and "Arthur Askey" and so many more, where are they now!) was "The Goon Show" running from 1951 to 1960 (with a special "The Last Goon Show of All" in 1972. Fortunately many of these last named are available on record.

From my decrepit memory ITMA had Mrs Mopp (Can I do you now, sir) Can't remember the actress though. Kathleen Harrison maybe?
Col Chinstrap (I don't mind if I do) was Jack Train.
