Radio
The radio or "wireless " is the most common way for people to be entertained and informed. Whole families sit around the wireless to listen to the News and other programmes from the BBC. Some favourites are: "The Kitchen Front" which features recipes and advice for the war time housewife, "Children’s Hour" with programmes for children, and of course the News for the latest about the war. Programmes run from 7 am until midnight.
