radio or "wireless
" is the most common way for people to be entertained
and informed. Whole families sit around the wireless to listen to
the News and other programmes from the BBC. Some favourites are: "The
Kitchen Front" which features recipes and advice for the war
time housewife, "Children’s Hour" with programmes for
children, and of course the News for the latest about the war. Programmes
run from 7 am until midnight.
