This
is Mrs. McVeigh's eldest son. He was a regular soldier in the 1st
Battalion of the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders. He loved being in
the army and was proud to wear the kilt with his uniform. He was 25
when he died on the beaches in France earlier this year. It was a
very sad day in the McVeigh household when the telegram
which told them that he had been killed, was delivered.
Mrs. McVeigh still cries a lot and is always worrying about her other
son who is also in the army. Every time the door bell rings unexpectedly
she jumps in case it's another telegram with bad news. |
