Episode 2 : Mountain bike mayhem

February 2007

It's the time of the Fort William Mountain Festival. In the background bikers shoot downhill at great speed, jump over obstacles and perform hair-raising biking stunts.

A pair of bikes advance towards screen - sporty MELODAIDH in the lead, and MUNRO JR who has to work hard to keep up.

MELODAIDH: Woooo... hoo... I love a challenge! ... come on, I'll race you!

She races off shot. Munro Jr accelerates, trying to impress her. A few moments later, MORAG slowly cycles into view, sweating. She gives hand-signals for every left and right turn. SEANAIR follows on foot, pushing his bike with BROCHAN on.

MORAG (panting): Great... love the exercise...actually... a very sporty person... uuh... oooh!

She wobbles on her bike very un-athletically. SEANAIR stops her from falling at the last minute, smiling kindly.

SEANAIR: There you go ... these boot were made for walking, not for wheelies!

MELODAIDH: Hey, what's taking so long?

Melodaidh and Munro return, stopping with a loud tyre screech. A root on the ground winds itself around Melodaidh's wheel. Her bike skids and Melodaidh just manages to deftly hop off her bike in time to avoid a crash... The root turns out to be Dwelly. He pops out of the ground with a cheeky smile.

MELODAIDH: Aaah!...Hmmmm! Not you again!

DWELLY: Manners first. (in Gaelic) Halò, ciamar a tha sibh?

SEANAIR / MORAG: Tha gu math, tapadh leibh!

MELODAIDH: Manners? You tripped me!

DWELLY: Well, you said you liked a challenge. And since it's a challenge you're all after...next month, you have to make a film!

There is a crack of thunder and Brochan yelps, leaping off Seanair's bike and landing on top of Dwelly with a crash! The group laughs so Dwelly snaps his fingers and makes it rain.

DWELLY (in Gaelic): 'S e 'm balach Dwelly! (Don't mess with Dwelly)

Brochan chases Dwelly off screen.
