FRIDAY, 22 JUNE, 2007

Uill uill, ciamar a tha sinn an-diugh? Tha mise gu math agus tha mi toilichte!

Yeah, getting all set for the Outsider Festival. I think this will be my highlight so far you know, as long as Seanair doesn't embarrass me or cramp my style there.

He’ll probably be really deaf and shouting a lot. Cringe, man. Mel says she is going to run the 12km and is out training as if all the outdoor activities and excursions weren’t enough training.

Maybe I’ll compete as well just to keep her on her toes!! Tee hee! I’m alright at cross country, you know.

Anyway, I’m off to download some mp3s before the festival - preparation you know. I probably won’t get many other opportunities to be in touch over the internet next month when we’re in the Western Isles - it takes 2 hours on a ferry from Skye to even get there in the first place so I think it might just be remote, huh? Grrrreat. No supermarkets, no music shops - nothing no doubt.

Right, I’m offski. Aviemore is cool by the way.

Hai, ciamar a tha sibh? Tha mise sgìth. Tha sinn trang, trang agus trang.

Oh man, is this place busy or is it just that Seanair and Melodaidh want us to fit everything possible into one month in Aviemore??

I feel like I'm seeing everything in fast forward! I mean … you'd think we were never going to visit here again. Seanair only lives a few hours down the road, could we not have a few more lie-ins, take it a bit easier and come back another time?

I think Mel must be writing a book: "How to conquer all outdoor activities in 28 days". It’s just because she doesn't get blisters.

Don't get me wrong - this place is so cool. I think the fact that a funicular railway, rock climbing and a music festival are all in one place is just great but, you know, we don't have to be doing something everyday, do we?

We went on a steam train the other day which was alright I suppose but I think I prefer the high speed variety. We had to walk back, a single fare only, which Seanair relished of course. Every 5 minutes we stopped to look at something else. We'd have done it in half the time otherwise. I'm not too bothered about seeing an osprey through binoculars but it's good to humour him anyway.

Right, my eyes are almost shutting so I'm off for a kip. Not sure if I'll get much time to blog this month. Our itinerary looks pretty full... groan :(

Over and out,
