Brochan | Seanair > SATURDAY, JANUARY 6, 2007 How are you doo-een? (I've an ear for languages, so I'm picking up an Inverness accent!) I'm off around the Highlands with Seanair for 2007 ... not sure what I did to deserve that but I've got a whole year of it. Mountains, footpaths, hills, glens, trails, rises, bumps, peaks, crags, valleys ……….. and troughs. He wants to teach me all about the outdoors and my ‘history’! Here's what I know: I’ve got my music going most of the time, and I can zone out of his more tedious ramblings. Mind you, its pretty cool that he knows what some of the hill names actually mean. No idea that Gaelic names were so common around the country. He’s desperate to learn some Gaelic, so he's on about going off on some sort of mad pilgrimage across the country to improve our skills. I reckon Brochan can speak better Gaelic than him, though! And that includes when his mouth is full of cheese and onion crisps! I never knew dogs could eat that and function.... Been learning a bit of the old Gaelic, a lot faster than my grandfather has. I don’t think his synapses fire as fast any more! We were sitting on the train on the way up here (I'm in Inverness) and Seanair got talking to these two women. One's called Morag - she's a bit uptight - and the other is Australian. She's OK. Yeah, she's OK OK, take it easy. Cheers Munro Jr POSTED BY MUNRO AT 12.35 PM - 0 COMMENTS |
