Hai. Ciamar a tha sibh a-nochd? Tha sinn trang agus sgìth ach toilichte!

I must say I have really enjoyed my time in Dingwall and it has been a lot less hectic than other months. We went to The Big Willow Project yesterday and Melodaidh and I just thought it was great. The younger ones are going to some football match today; I’m not sure what it is exactly but at least Munro is looking a bit perkier. I’ll never understand teenagers! Always moping and mumbling. Gone are the days of manners!

So now we’re taking to the road to Aviemore – apparently there is some festival or other at the end of the month and no doubt there will be a great deal of scrambling involved – I better rest my legs whilst I can!

Bye for now,

Morag x

Halò a-rithist is ciamar a tha sibh an-diugh? ’S e latha brèagha a th' ann an-diugh. We just had a lovely day yesterday as we were in Ullapool. It's a charming little town and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed my poetry morning on Isle Martin. We had a pleasant crossing and I must say the two sessions of Scottish and Gaelic writing were just wonderful. I loved hearing the Gaelic poems being read and I just wish I could read them myself. It is such a diverse literature ... maybe at the end of this trip I will be able to read the poetry of Sorley Maclean and Ian Crichton Smith - now that would just be wonderful.

Anyway, I'm gasping for some tea. I will blog again soon,

Tìoraidh an-dràsta,

Morag

Halò agus ciamar a tha sibh? An dòchas gu bheil sibh … erm … gu math!

Here we are in Dingwall and we've got yet another Dwelly task. I’m surprising myself because I'm actually enjoying this one. I've really been struggling with the rest of them. For the surfing, getting into the wet suit was bad enough.

Then there was the mountain biking and the film making. I didn't mind being behind the camera but I'm a bit nervous really. Anyway this task is mastering the art of basket making and I have to say that I'm thoroughly enjoying it. It's the oldest living craft you know and the earliest known artefacts of baskets date back beyond that of pottery. They believe it is as old a craft as civilisation itself. I think that is just so interesting.

We will be attending The Big Willow Project at the Brahan Estate at the end of the month. I'm really looking forward to that. There are a few events coming up before that, that I'm really looking forward to. There is a Scottish Archaeological Fair on Saturday that Seanair and I are very keen to go to and I also see that there is a book festival in Ullapool that I'm sure Mel will be attending - now Scottish and Gaelic literature is just so interesting to me. Anyway look at all I've typed; I'm getting carried away with this blogging now!

Le gaol,

Morag x
