SeanairMelodaidh

MONDAY, JANUARY 8, 2007

Hello

Munro. That boy is a strange one. We went to a lecture last night which was very interesting. When I said I wanted to go ... he groaned! And then Seanair said: "Yes, Morag! A great idea!" - Munro groaned even louder than Brochan sometimes does!

And we got there and Melodaidh said she thought it was very interesting, and suddenly Munro thought so too. Oh dear .

It was in the Highland Council Chambers. Did you know that there's a document in there signed by Churchill? It was the only time the British cabinet ever met outside London. Right here in the Highlands.

I think that is
fascinating.

Bye for now.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 5, 2007

I am finding that Inverness has a lot going on. We are enjoying it and we

/ have met some new people .. an old man, a d0g,   and his grandson - the boy is the grandson of the old man and not of the dog.

The man is called Seanair, and the boy is called Munro Jr. The dog's name is Brochan - which is the Gaelic word for 'porridge'.

Oh yes, I have learnt a little Gaelic. It's easier than I thought. This is another of Melodaidh's ideas. She thinks that speaking Gaelic is 'cool'. We have been picking up a little and practising.

We have also met someone .... oh, dear, err, something called Dwelly. This Dwelly character is helping us, but sometimes his help is more than a little confusing. He knows everything about Gaelic, but he just .. appears out of nowhere. It's just not logical. He said I should practice my Gaelic regularly so that's what I'm off to do now, ...if I can find my notes....oh dear!

Bye for now,
Morag

oH DEAR. .
Ah, that’s better.

Hello,
I am in Inverness just now with my cousin Melodaidh. She’s from Australia, and is very glamorous. She wanted to come to Scotland and visit the Highlands and Islands to learn more about her ‘roots’. She asked me to come and

I wasn’t sure. @Oh dear’, I said. It’s a long way and it’s cold, but Melodaidh insisted. So we have started in Inverness. I like it and it has a super castle. how romantic! I have managed to knit a new scarf.

Bye for now,

Morag
