Sin agad e! Tha sinn deiseil anns An Aghaidh Mhòr. Chan eil mise toilichte!
I’m so sad to be leaving Aviemore, I have just had a rocking time. It’s such a small area with so much to offer. Anyway I will look forward to taking it easy for a few days once we get to the Western Isles next month.
I really can’t wait until we go there – I hope we’ll take the boat to St Kilda and we’ll have so many cultural activities to take part in. There is such a strong cultural identity over there. I find it fascinating.
Sorry …… I’m rambling a bit. This trip is fabulous, just when you’re sad to leave somewhere you start thinking about the next place and are happy all over again!
We’re going out of Aviemore with a bang tonight though - we’re going to a ceilidh in Aviemore Town Hall. I really hope I’ll learn to do a Strathspey Reel.
I’ll be in touch from Stornoway!
Gaol grùbhaidh ;)

Wow!! What a fab few weeks this has been. I love this area. We’ve done so much; we’ve been to the Folk Museum, windsurfing, horse riding, rock climbing, fishing and (of course) we’ve done lots of walking.
There are loads of paths in this area and Seanair has been guiding us through the best of them. We have The Outsider festival to look forward to this weekend which I just CANNOT wait for!
I love a good festival, there is always such a good atmosphere. I am really looking forward to seeing KT Tunstall and I’m also gonna take part in the 12km run. Need to keep fit ya know ;) and they say it is Britain’s most beautiful run!!
There’s a lot we’re gonna do before the festival though so I better go and get organised before we go for a quick walk around Loch Morlich. I’m hoping I might jump in a kayak whilst I’m there!
An dòchas gu bheil sibh gu math,

Hey! Ciamar a tha sibh? A bheil sibh gu math? Tha mise gu dòigheil is toilichte! Gabh mo leisgeul … tha mi ag ionnsachadh na Gàidhlig!
Phew!! It takes some concentration but I’m getting there! How are you guys anyway? I’m really loving Gaelic and the travelling. Aviemore is just wonderful.
There is SOOOOOOO much to do - it’s really my kind of place! Myself and Seanair have even sampled a few of the local whiskies. The Gaelic for whisky is ‘uisge beatha’ - which means “the water of life”. Isn’t that just fab?
This area, Speyside is one of the best in Scotland for whisky distilling! Anyway, it’s not just sampling we’ve been doing. We’ve been fairly getting out and about, too.
We went on the Strathspey Steam Engine the other day and it was fabulous. I absolutely loved this day out.
I’m hoping we’ll get to go up on the Funicular train, too. Apparently there is a restaurant at the top of the Cairngorm Mountain called the Ptarmigan which I really want to go to! So much to do - I hope we fit it all in!
’S fheàrr dhomh falbh! Tìoraidh an-dràsta,
